CHANGING OPINIONS
In trying to change a person’s political opinion on a subject, consider the following:
1. Begin with a shared value, something most people agree on, like health care or
clean air and water.
2. Be positive not negative.
3. Things that are not effective; sarcasm and saying no.
4. State what you are for not what you are against.
5. Don’t amplify the opposite side’s position.
6. Choose words carefully.
7. Emphasis solutions not problems.
8. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
