SNAP benefits cannot be paid.” Illinois doubles down, warning that “SNAP customers will not receive November food benefits—unless there is further action from the Trump administration.” California joined the chorus, faulting “the failures of the President and Congress.”

The stakes are brutally real: the shutdown has lasted over 21 days, freezing benefits, delaying paychecks, and leaving millions of Americans wondering whether they can still afford healthcare coverage.
