The Epstein Shutdown

Let’s be clear: this isn’t a Democratic shutdown—it’s the Epstein shutdown. Republicans, who control the House, Senate, and White House, created this crisis to distract from growing demands to release the Epstein files. At the center of the cover-up is Attorney General Pam Bondi, working to block both Congress and the public from seeing what those files may reveal about Donald Trump.

Senate Republicans could easily avoid a shutdown by suspending the filibuster and passing a continuing resolution without a single Democratic vote. But they won’t. Why? Because they're afraid of what’s in those documents.

Speaker Johnson deepened the crisis by sending the House home early preventing newly elected Arizona Rep. Adelita Grijalva from being seated. Her vote would force the release of the full Epstein file via a bi-partisan discharge petition.

Meanwhile, 22 million Americans—Republicans, Democrats, and independents—stand to lose Affordable Care Act subsidies if the government stays closed. Democrats are fighting to protect this essential healthcare access.

While Republicans falsely claim the undocumented are draining the system, their real strategy is clear: sow chaos, shift blame, and bury the truth about Epstein. The American people deserve transparency, not another cover-up.
