Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill and the Great Die Off

Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” is poised to trigger the deadliest health care crisis since his disastrous COVID-19 response — but this time, it’s deliberate. The “Great Die Off” has begun.

Disguised as reform, the bill slashes Medicaid, guts the Affordable Care Act, and chips away at Medicare. Experts estimate more than 500,000 additional deaths over the next decade –  a number that will inevitably rise. This is not a policy failure; it’s soft eugenics, echoing ideas pushed by tech elites like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel. Those at the top will thrive, those at the bottom will simply fade away.

But it won’t happen all at once. Some provisions of the Big Beautiful Bill will kick in immediately while others will be phased in after the 2026 mid-term elections. And beginning around 2027, automatic Medicare cuts triggered by soaring deficits from the bill’s tax giveaways will begin — a process called sequestration.

Seniors will be at the front of the line in the Great Die Off. The bill repeals nursing home staffing requirements introduced under Biden. Since Medicaid provides long term coverage for two-thirds of the people in nursing homes there will be even fewer staff and resources. But Trump doesn’t care.

Poor seniors eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare will be hit twice — losing Medicaid while facing Medicare benefit cuts. For those already skipping medications or care due to cost, the consequences will be deadly. But Trump doesn’t care.

Next in line: people with chronic illnesses, the disabled, pregnant women, and children — especially in rural and poor states. As Medicaid shrinks, rural hospitals will close, and providers will vanish. These communities will be hollowed out. But Trump doesn’t care.

This isn’t collateral damage — it’s by design. The “Great Die Off” is not just foreseeable, it’s intentional. And Trump doesn’t care.
