The “Big Beautiful Bill” Bars Courts from Holding the Administration in Contempt

Hidden deep in Trump’s so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" is a dangerous provision that would block courts—including the Supreme Court—from holding him or his administration accountable, even when they defy court orders. This is not politics as usual. It’s a direct attack on the system of checks and balances that has protected American democracy for nearly 250 years.
In just four months, the GOP has pushed us to the brink of irreparable harm to our democracy. If this provision stands, we will have crossed that line. The “American experiment” envisioned by our founder fathers will have failed.
Our courts don’t have a police force or an army to enforce their rulings – the Department of Justice is supposed to do that. But the DOJ has been compromised by those beholden to Trump and foreign powers – they are not there to protect us.
We have a powerful tool: our voices. It's time to hold our elected accountable. Write a letter, make a phone call, or send an email to your member of Congress and your Senators. Shame those in Congress who voted for the Big Beautiful Bill and tell your Senators to vote NO, because America never needed a king.
Democracy is not a spectator sport. You don’t need to give every minute to volunteer to take action —just do what you can whenever you can. Attend a rally to support your community, write a letter to the editor, phone bank or text bank. Because right now, doing something means everything.
